Had something odd happen with an American Airlines booking for a trip in June.
AA changed my flight schedule and the new itinerary now shows a negative 12-minute layover in Philadelphia. Basically the connecting flight departs 12 minutes before my first flight arrives.
I contacted chat support and even found several alternative flights myself that are available for sale. But the agent said they couldn’t move me because there were no seats available in my cabin class, even though I booked Main Cabin (not Basic Economy) and have Gold status.
Their only suggestion was to try fixing it at the airport on the day of travel, which seems crazy considering this is months away and the connection is literally impossible.
They also said I could cancel for travel credit, but not a cash refund.
Has anyone else ever seen a negative layover like this after a schedule change? And shouldn’t the airline be required to fix it since they changed the schedule?
