American Airlines adds Bimini to Its network

Big news for Caribbean travelers starting February 14, 2026, American Airlines will begin flying from Miami to South Bimini, Bahamas. At just 64 miles, it’ll be American’s shortest route, even edging out the Chicago Milwaukee hop. The flights will run three times a week on Envoy Air’s Embraer E175s, giving Bimini its first regularly scheduled U.S. airline service.

I’m pretty excited about this one. Last time I visited Bimini, options were limited to ferries or smaller local carriers, so having a reliable U.S. carrier makes quick getaways a lot easier. Plus, with Bimini now joining Nassau, Freeport, and others, American is solidifying its presence across the Bahamas.
