Wasn’t on this flight but saw this pop up while at DEN myself and it rattled me a bit. AA flight tried to take off and something with the landing gear apparently caught fire passengers saw smoke and they had to evacuate on slides. One person was hospitalized but thankfully everyone else got off safe. Folks said the plane shook violently before veering, and fire crews showed up fast.
This is the second scary close call in a few days in the US. Anyone else noticing this uptick in runway or gear-related incidents? Or just bad luck in a busy travel weekend?
