Staying at IC Times Square soon and booked a junior suite. I have Ambassador status and was thinking about the guaranteed upgrade benefit.
From what I can see, the only room above a junior suite is the presidential suite, which is a huge jump in category and price. I know Ambassadors get compensation if an upgrade isn’t available, but I’m curious how this actually plays out in real life.
Has anyone ever gotten a really big upgrade like that, or do hotels usually just deny it even if the top suite is technically available and pay the compensation instead?
Just trying to set expectations.
