I fly First Class on Delta fairly often, and I’ve always been used to flight attendants taking drink orders shortly after boarding.
However, over my last three flights in the past few weeks, I’ve noticed a change. On two of those flights, no drink orders were taken until well into the flight, sometimes about an hour after takeoff.
On another flight, they did take orders and served everyone, but my drink was missed. After waiting a while, I asked if I could still get a Diet Coke before departure, since everyone else had already been served. The response made it feel like I was asking for something unusual.
Has the process changed recently for First Class service, or is this just inconsistency between crews? If this is the new normal, I may just start bringing my own drink onboard to avoid the wait.
