Allegris seat cooling is great… until it just gives up

This sums up my feelings on Allegris pretty well.

The cabin heat on Lufthansa long haul is real, and the lack of proper air nozzles has always been baffling. So when Allegris finally gives you seat cooling and a personal air outlet, it genuinely feels like a breakthrough. For once, you can actually control your own comfort a bit.

But the fact that the cooling shuts off after 20 to 45 minutes is such a Lufthansa moment. Big marketing push, cool tech demo, then quietly capped by some “safety measure” that makes it borderline pointless on an overnight flight.

If overheating is really the issue, that feels like a design compromise that should’ve been solved before rollout. Especially when this is being sold as a premium, next generation product.

It’s still better than nothing, but it’s hard not to laugh at how close they got to nailing it, and then just… didn’t.
