Looking for some perspective here.
Stayed at an all inclusive in Cancun that was recently taken over by Hyatt. Booking somehow showed one guest instead of two. Before arrival they told us we couldn’t change it and would need to pay a big supplement at check in. Annoying but fine.
At check in they told us the supplement was much lower than expected. I confirmed it twice, signed, and paid. No itemized bill. During the stay we got a note saying there was an accounting error and owed more. Paid that at checkout after they explained it and again asked if everything was settled. They said yes. Still no invoice.
After leaving Mexico we started getting WhatsApps and emails saying we owe more money due to another mistake and asking for permission to charge the card on file. The amounts keep changing slightly and still no proper breakdown, just “you owe us.”
At this point it feels messy at best and shady at worst. They had multiple chances to explain and settle it while we were there.
Would you pay to make it go away, push back until there’s a proper invoice, or just ignore it?
