Just heard the big news the former Andaz Mayakoba, one of my favorite Riviera Maya stays, is reopening as Alila Mayakoba in February 2026! This will be the first Alila in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the design looks stunning with earthy tones, ocean views, and even private plunge pools. It’ll be a Category 6 Hyatt property, so you’re looking at 21k–29k points per night depending on the season.
I’m super tempted to book with points now that it's live on the Hyatt platform. That beachfront presidential suite with 2 floors, private pool, and butler service sounds dreamy but also pricey.
Has anyone stayed at other Alila resorts before? Curious how they compare to Andaz or other Hyatt luxury brands. Would love to hear your experiences before I make the plunge.
