My 6 year old flew in to see me for Christmas and her mom paid $50 for the unaccompanied minor fee, same as always. When I went to fly her home, they charged me $100. I pushed back because it’s always been $50, and the agents insisted it’s always been $100.
Paid it anyway, then called customer support the next day. Turns out the fee was increased to $100 each way on the exact day I flew her out.
I know prices go up, but doubling a fee overnight with zero warning is brutal. Just sharing so no one else gets blindsided like I did.
