I realize I’m mostly just venting, but I’m pretty frustrated with my experience at Portland (PDX) this morning.
I arrived expecting to use the Alaska Airlines lounge before my long flight to Honolulu, hoping to have breakfast and a quiet place to relax. Instead, I was told at the entrance that the lounge was full and I had to join a waitlist. There were already several other passengers waiting as well.
This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered this issue, and it seems to happen frequently. Given that I pay close to $800 for lounge access membership, it’s disappointing not to be able to actually use the lounge when I need it.
I understand mornings can be busy, but even around 9:30 AM, it was already overcrowded. I’m just wondering if there are any plans to expand lounge capacity, because this has become a recurring issue.
