Alaska Airlines has reportedly agreed to acquire JetBlue Airways in an all-cash transaction valued at $1.58 billion. The deal, which is still pending regulatory approval, is expected to combine Alaska’s West Coast and Pacific route network with JetBlue’s East Coast and Caribbean operations.
Company leadership described the move as a major strategic step forward, noting that the combined network could offer expanded route options and improved connectivity for passengers, such as simplified travel between major cities with fewer connections.
Following the announcement, Alaska Air Group’s stock saw a significant increase in premarket trading.
