Alaska agent wrecked a confirmed Condor J award just by “checking” something

This one hurts to read. The OP had 2 business class seats LAX to FRA on Condor, fully ticketed with Alaska miles. All they did was call to ask a question about possibly adding FRA to PRG later, nothing more.


Agent puts them on hold, then goes ahead and changes the booking anyway. When they refresh, the J seats are gone and replaced with premium economy. Immediate red flag. Supervisor admits the agent shouldn’t have touched anything and calls it a training issue, but Condor won’t release the original J inventory back.


So now the damage looks permanent, even though this was 100 percent agent error. Case opened, waiting to hear back, but that doesn’t help much when award space is gone.


This is exactly why people are terrified to call in once a good partner award is ticketed.
