Just got off the phone with Qatar. They said the airspace is closed until March 6.
My dad was supposed to fly March 4 from Toronto to Doha. Cancelled. They automatically moved him to March 16 and said they’re not offering rebooking on other airlines.
I get that no one can predict geopolitics, but realistically… when airspace reopens, do airlines usually resume operations immediately? Or is there typically a backlog and more delays for a while?
Trying to decide if we should sit tight or start seriously looking at other carriers.
