I’m posting this urgently because we are currently stuck in a difficult travel situation.
It is 11pm and we have a flight tomorrow at 12pm to the Dominican Republic. Our group missed our original cruise departure, but we are now trying to fly to the Dominican Republic on Sunday so we can board the cruise on Monday. We were verbally told by the cruise line that we would be allowed to board.
However, when we tried to check in for our flight, the airline agent refused to proceed unless we provide written proof from MSC Cruises confirming that we will be allowed to board the cruise on Monday. They specifically want an official email or letter from MSC with all our names listed.
We have tried showing everything we have, including:
Cruise itinerary in the app
Emails from our travel agent
Booking confirmations and documents on our phones
But none of this is being accepted because we are not residents of the US and they insist on official written confirmation directly from MSC Cruises.
We contacted MSC support, but their office is closed until morning (9am–6pm), and we cannot reach anyone who can issue the required document in time for our flight.
At this point, we are stuck and not sure what options we have before departure.
Has anyone experienced something similar or knows how to get emergency written confirmation from MSC Cruises outside of office hours
