Airlines using AI to explain delays + dynamic pricing… good idea or disaster waiting to happen?

Just read about airlines starting to roll out AI systems for pretty much everything, pricing tickets dynamically per passenger, and even explaining delays with automated messages and possibly maintenance videos.

Apparently carriers like United are pushing toward AI-generated “plain English” updates when flights get delayed, instead of the usual vague “operational issues” messages.

On one hand, I kinda get it. Most delay explanations right now are basically useless, and anything more specific would be nice (crew timing, maintenance, ATC, etc.).

But I can also see this going sideways fast:

AI giving sanitized/corporate-approved explanations instead of real causes

dynamic pricing becoming even less transparent than it already is

passengers trusting it less, not more, especially during disruptions

Feels like we’re heading toward airlines being even more automated/opaque, just with better wording.

Curious what others think, would you actually trust AI explanations for delays, or is this just marketing dressed up as “transparency”?
