I have never seen anything like this before. My assigned seat had a structural pillar that removed most of the legroom and left no space for my bag. It was the only seat on the aircraft like this.
After I complained, a flight attendant said I could be moved, but only if I paid a 100 dollar upgrade to the “Even More” extra legroom seats. Later, after noticing I was posting about it, the crew gave me some extra complimentary snacks.
The airline is JetBlue and this was a standard economy ticket. I later called the airline and received a follow-up call after a few hours, but it was mostly about filing a formal complaint.
