Airbnb condo in Bangkok covered in “illegal stay” signs

Just landed in Bangkok, walked into the Airbnb building, and the whole lobby was plastered with warnings that short stays are illegal, they’ll call the police, guests could be stopped by guards, etc. Host never mentioned anything.

The unit itself is great and we’re only here three nights, but it’s jarring seeing those signs everywhere. Not sure if it’s something buildings actually enforce or more of a scare tactic for owners renting short term. Heard both versions.

Anyone lived here or dealt with this? Do guests actually get in trouble or is the heat usually on the host? Trying to figure out if we should just ride it out or bail.
