Flight AI127 from Delhi ended up delayed because three business class seats were broken and the passengers assigned to them refused to move to economy.
What made it more frustrating was that the aircraft had reportedly been on the ground for about five hours, so it wasn’t a quick turnaround situation. Still, those seats were assigned during check in.
Passengers were left waiting late at night while the situation was being figured out, not knowing if the flight would depart or if connections would be missed.
Seats 9D, 9E, and 9F in business class were the ones that were apparently broken, and the engineer who came to check them even said he had already informed the airline earlier that they couldn’t be fixed.
