Air India feels completely unserious now

On a recent domestic flight I watched a woman straight up talk her way onto the plane after violating airline policy. She listed her toddler as an infant so she wouldn’t have to buy a seat, even though the kid was clearly too old to be a lap child.

The crew initially refused to let her board, which felt like the right call. But after enough arguing, they eventually gave in and let her on anyway.

That kind of thing really doesn’t inspire confidence. Rules seem optional if you’re loud or persistent enough, and that’s not great for safety or fairness.

Just left me shaking my head the whole flight.
