Air France making you pay for seats now? even with status?

Noticed something weird recently… during check-in it’s asking me to pay just to change/select a regular economy seat.

I’m SkyTeam Gold and I’ve always been able to pick seats for free before, so this caught me off guard.

Feels like one of those quiet changes they slip in without really saying anything.
