Flying from Chile to Montreal and suddenly the rule is you can’t have over 100ml because the plane crosses US airspace? That sounds completely new. I’ve flown over the US tons of times on international routes and never had anyone care about what was in my carry on because of airspace.
Making people toss duty free stuff or even water bottles is brutal. Especially after security already cleared it.
Feels like either something changed quietly or someone seriously over enforced something.
Would love to know if this is actually a real policy or just airport confusion.
