We used this agency a few years ago for a big trip and it was expensive but worth it. Totally hands off, everything arranged, smooth experience.
Now we asked them to plan a family trip and the quote came back way higher than expected. Looks like close to 100% markup per person compared to booking the same hotels and flights myself. I asked about pricing and they’re not really budging.
Here’s the dilemma. It feels kind of slimy to take the itinerary they spent time building and just book it on my own. But it’s also hard to justify paying basically double, especially times four with kids.
I’m thinking of just being honest and saying we can’t justify that price for this trip, and maybe revisit working together on a smaller adults only trip later. Ghosting feels wrong, but so does overpaying by that much.
