Just hit Platinum with AerClub and found out one of the perks is an extra checked bag for free, which sounded great.
Then I learned the catch… apparently you have to call customer service to actually use the benefit.
That surprised me a bit. I’ve had status with other airlines before and the extra bag allowance was always automatic in the booking system.
So now I’m wondering if this is normal with Aer Lingus or if it’s just a weird quirk of AerClub.
Am I overreacting, or does that seem strange to anyone else?
