I recently got the Capital One Venture X card as my first annual fee travel card. I have a high income and previously mainly used no-annual-fee cards, including an older Savor card that gave me strong cashback on dining.
Since I am now planning to travel more, I felt the Venture X would be a good fit. I’m currently waiting for the card to arrive so I can start using benefits like Priority Pass access and Global Entry reimbursement.

Any general tips for maximizing this card’s benefits?
Is it better to book travel through the Capital One portal or directly with airlines/hotels?
Are there situations where calling customer service gives better pricing or deals than using the portal?
I’m mainly looking for advice on how to use the card effectively for travel.
