I wanted to share some everyday adjustments I had to make while living in Vietnam, especially as a woman, since these kinds of practical experiences are not discussed very often.
One issue I ran into was online shopping, particularly on platforms like Lazada and Shopee. I once ordered a branded supplement and received something that seemed suspicious in quality, so I now only buy from verified pharmacies or official brand stores.
I also noticed significant differences in clothing sizing and fit compared to Europe, where I previously lived, which meant I had to adjust my usual size expectations.
Skincare and sunscreen products were another adjustment, as many local products have different textures or formulations than what I am used to, especially sunscreens that tend to be lighter or more fluid.
Water quality also seemed to affect my hair and skin, particularly in coastal cities like Da Nang, and I noticed changes even after using filters.
Additionally, I found that some feminine hygiene products that are common in Western countries are less readily available or harder to find locally.
None of these issues are major individually, but together they required a period of adjustment and learning.
I am curious if other women living in Vietnam have experienced similar challenges or found other unexpected differences in daily life
