Acela First Class beat Delta Shuttle in my NYC–Boston test

Did a same-day comparison. Acela First Class seat 4F vs Delta Shuttle seat 3A. Acela got me Penn Station to Back Bay in 3h45 vs Delta’s 4h30 once you factor in security and the Logan bus.

The new Acela sets feel legit premium: full breakfast (the shakshuka was excellent), fast WiFi, outlets that worked, and no airport hassle. Delta Comfort+ was cheaper but the stress of lines and transfers killed it.

Only gripe: a few people still cut through the “private” First Class car. Otherwise, for business travel, train wins hands down.

Anyone tried the new Acela First Class menu yet? The wine list looked tempting.

Amtrak vs Plane Between New York City and Boston, Which is Faster? - Altitude Yes
Flying has the potential for the fastest trips door to door, but Amtrak's Acela allows me to be productive without losing much time.
