My Qatar flight got cancelled and the only option available was Air India, so I ended up flying Bangkok to Mumbai and then Mumbai to Frankfurt with a 12 hour layover in between.
Honestly I was surprised by how good the flights were.
Both planes were very clean. The first flight didn’t have in flight entertainment, but I didn’t mind since there was a phone holder so I just watched YouTube on my phone. The second flight actually had very good screens and even allowed Bluetooth headphones, which I had never seen before.
The cabin crew were also efficient, friendly, and helpful throughout the flights.
My only real issue was the transit process in Mumbai. Security there was pretty chaotic. They thought my headphones were a lighter and refused to give my bag back at first. The same thing was happening to other passengers too.
It took almost an hour just to get my ticket signed before I could go through security, and in total it took about two hours to finally reach the transit area.
That part made me worry a bit about potentially missing a connection if it’s always like that. Still, the flights themselves were much better than I expected.
