Had a 7:05am STL to ATL yesterday. Got there around 5:20 to check bags and walked straight into a mess.
Turns out something blew up before we arrived, so there were still people from the 6am flight trying to check in. Only three agents, all stuck rebooking missed flights instead of checking in people who could still make theirs. Predictably, that snowballed. 6:30 flights started missing. Line barely moved.
Only reason we made it was one guy who showed up and just powered through like 30 people. We got to the gate with maybe five minutes to spare. SLC flight closed and left with 17 people still stuck in the check-in line.
To top it off, Delta somehow lost my girlfriend’s preorder meal (mine made it) and left her bag in Atlanta despite a long layover. Supposedly delivering it today.
For a “premium airline,” Delta has been letting me down a lot lately. I’ve stuck with them via Reserve card and Platinum Medallion, but with issues popping up on way too many trips, I’m honestly rethinking that loyalty
