Looks like AA slipped out some updates for 2026–2027. Beyond the already annoying no LPs or miles for Basic Economy, it seems they’re also adjusting how the next elite qualifying year works.
So far the actual status thresholds still show 2025 numbers, so who knows if those change later, but award availability definitely does. And of course we get the same vague “making room for new awards” language Hyatt loves to use.
I’m usually pretty pro AA, but the constant couponing of elite benefits is getting old fast. Feels like death by a thousand small nerfs instead of one clear change.
