I don’t fly American Airlines often enough to fully understand all their rules, but I travel enough overall to know what to expect when booking a premium cabin.
I booked a business class ticket for a transcontinental flight from New York City (JFK) to Los Angeles on a Boeing 777-200ER. It was very unclear whether the flight qualified as “Flagship” or not, and what lounge access I was entitled to at JFK.
My boarding pass even showed “First Class,” so I assumed I could access the Soho Lounge, but I was denied entry. I ended up using the Greenwich Lounge instead, which was fine, but the whole process was unnecessarily confusing.
Why is it so difficult to understand what benefits come with a premium ticket? For a flight costing over $1,000, this information should be clearly communicated instead of forcing passengers to search online for answers.
