My phone rang and it showed 800-433-7300 (American Airlines). A representative asked if I still planned to fly on my upcoming flight because it is overbooked and wanted to confirm that I would actually be traveling tomorrow.
I had already checked in a few hours earlier, so I was surprised they called at all. I’m Gold status, but the rest of my family is basic AAdvantage members.
Has anyone experienced this before? I didn’t expect them to call directly about overbooking. Am I overthinking this, or is there a real chance we could get bumped?
