Just read about Airbus rolling out a software update for the A380 flight computers after a weird training flight issue and apparently, two engines rolled back thrust right after takeoff due to an erroneous command. That’s honestly wild, and a little unsettling given how critical that phase of flight is. Thankfully, this happened during a training flight, not a commercial one.
What stood out to me is how something so advanced can still glitch at such a fundamental level. Makes me think about how much trust we place in avionics, especially on giants like the A380. Kudos to Airbus for acting quickly with an update, but I’m curious, are there more underlying issues that haven't come to light yet?
Anyone here work on avionics or flown the A380 recently and noticed anything off?
