Was traveling with my son, who’s a total aviation nerd he can spot seat maps faster than I can find the gate. While we were talking about the plane, a guy who’d just been upgraded to Polaris overheard us. Out of nowhere, he offered to switch seats so my son could experience Polaris for the first time. No hesitation, just pure kindness.
I sat with him in economy, and funny enough, we ended up working in the same industry. Had a great chat, but honestly what I’ll remember most is that gesture. My son hasn’t stopped smiling since.
It’s easy to focus on the bad stuff when flying, but moments like this remind me there are still really good people out there.
