Just landed a fully remote job. US citizen, have to work US hours. Salary is $75k pre tax, around $50k after tax.
I hate cold weather and prefer walkable, bike friendly cities with solid public transport. Drawn to Southern Europe, Balkans, Argentina, Brazil, places like that.
For those actually doing the digital nomad thing… is $50k take home enough to live well and still save in Europe or Latin America? Not luxury, but comfortable.
If you’re in a similar range, would you mind sharing rough monthly costs and where you’re based?
Also curious about visa setups. Tourist hopping? Digital nomad visas? Residency paths?
Long term goal is to leave the US permanently. Is that realistic on this income? How did you approach it?
