I was planning to head up north from Minneapolis for the weekend but ended up hunkered down instead when the sky turned that eerie green-gray that always means trouble. We lost power for most of the night, and the wind took out half a tree in my neighbor’s yard. Hail was hammering the roof like a drumline golf ball-sized in some spots, apparently.
Seeing so many areas from Appleton to Grove City get hammered just reminds me how wild this summer has been, weather-wise. This isn't the kind of stormy season I remember growing up with. We’re barely halfway through the week and already bracing for more?
Anyone else in the Twin Cities still without power? Feels like Xcel's got a long road ahead this time.
