Booked a basic economy return from Europe to the US for just over €420. When I looked at the breakdown, about €400 of that is taxes and only around €20 is actual airfare.
Since the taxes are refundable if I cancel, it basically means the ticket is almost fully refundable anyway. Kind of funny that “basic economy” ends up being mostly refundable just because the base fare is so tiny.
