I’m 41F and booked a private room in a hostel in Buenos Aires for part of my South America trip. En suite, not a dorm.
Told a friend and she basically said I’m too old for hostels and that I might feel awkward or make others feel awkward.
Honestly I picked it because I like the social vibe and I’m traveling solo. I don’t really want a silent hotel where I don’t talk to anyone for days.
Curious what others think. Is there actually an age where hostels stop being appropriate? Or is it more about the type of hostel and room you book?
