4 weeks in Central and North India on a group tour… incredible but exhausting

This wasn’t exactly a relaxing vacation. More like intense, overwhelming, beautiful chaos.

The architecture and ancient sites were unreal. Some of the temples and carvings completely blew me away. The Taj at sunrise was magical. I ditched the group there and had the eastern platform almost to myself for a while. Same with Hampi, I went out at sunrise on my own and loved it.

Food was amazing and cheap. Had a few minor stomach issues but nothing that ruined the trip.

But honestly, it felt like a battle most days. The air pollution was rough. Constant honking. Crowds. Trash. Begging. Getting hassled. I was groped or physically bothered a handful of times in crowded areas, even with the group. That part was draining.

A lot of people were kind and helpful too, but it’s hard to relax when you feel on guard all the time. The staring and constant photo requests were exhausting. I started avoiding eye contact just to conserve energy.

And still… I want to go back. Just shorter next time. Four weeks was too much for me. India feels endless and fascinating, but it definitely takes stamina
