I’m looking to book a nice hotel and noticed the same 4 star property is about 20–30% cheaper on Trip.com than booking direct with the hotel.
The hotel itself looks legit. Good reviews on Trip.com and Google Maps, solid amenities, everything seems included. But the price difference feels almost too good, especially since this is my first time booking a hotel outside my country.
I’m worried about showing up and running into issues like:
Room not actually being there
Weird restrictions or hidden conditions
Hotel treating it like a “second class” booking
Is there any real downside to booking through Trip.com? Anything specific I should double check before pulling the trigger?
