330k for Hawaiian SEA–NRT when JAL is 60k… what?

I was pricing nonstop business SEA–NRT for Feb 18 and almost fell out of my chair.

HA 823 was showing 330k Alaska points. JL 67 on the same route was 60k.

How does that make any sense? JAL is consistently one of the top business class products out there, and Hawaiian, while fine, isn’t exactly in the same league. Over 5x the points?

Since posting, the Hawaiian price dropped to 200k, so clearly this is fully dynamic and bouncing around. But even 200k vs 60k is wild.

I get that Alaska is pushing more dynamic pricing on partners and their own inventory, but this kind of gap just makes no rational sense from a value standpoint.
