$3,000 to “lock in” Exec Plat… who is actually paying this?

Just got the offer to buy up to Executive Platinum after being Platinum Pro the last two years.

Price? About $3,000.

I mean… seriously. Who is paying that out of pocket?

Between AA and Hilton, the points inflation lately has been wild. Feels like the carrot keeps moving further away every year. Even Admirals Club access feels like a maze now with all the “select flights” language.

I fly around 80 flights a year and I’m happy enough with exit rows and a clean, safe ride. But three grand cash to jump from Pro to Exec?

Curious if anyone actually pulls the trigger on these offers.
