Was at SFO the other day and heard this at the gate next to mine. United flight to Melbourne was overweight and they needed volunteers.
At first nobody moved.
They kept raising it and eventually it was $3000 in United credit, hotel for the night, and confirmed in business on the flight 24 hours later.
I’m not even on that flight and I wanted to run up there.
Unless I had a wedding or something time sensitive, I feel like that’s a no brainer? $3k for one extra night and an upgrade on a 15 hour flight sounds pretty sweet.
Surprised more people didn’t jump on it.
