I’ve been flying Air France YYZ to CDG (or the reverse) about twice a year for nearly 20 years, and I honestly can’t believe how fast this has escalated.
Emergency exit seats used to be free. Then it jumped to around €70–80 each way, which already annoyed me. Now I’m seeing €150 each way for an exit row this June. That’s €300 round trip just for legroom.
What really gets me is that now every single seat costs money to choose. Doesn’t matter which one, it’s €35+ minimum. And that’s after already paying extra for a checked bag, another €70.
It just feels like death by a thousand fees at this point. Hard to justify sticking with Air France when the add-ons cost more than the base fare used to.
