I’m looking for advice from anyone who’s dealt with similar schedule changes from Wizz Air. My siblings and I booked round-trip flights from Italy to Jeddah for the Formula 1 event, originally scheduled from April 16 to April 20.
About a week ago, Wizz Air informed us that our flights were changed due to cancellations. The new itinerary is now April 15 to April 17, which completely disrupts our plans.
This change creates several issues:
We now need to pay for an extra hotel night since our original booking started on April 16.
The new return flight on April 17 forces us to leave before the event ends.
There are no Wizz Air flights available after April 17 on this route until June 1.
I’m fine with taking the earlier outbound flight, but the earlier return makes the trip pointless. Wizz Air only offered the April 17 return, with no alternatives.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Were you able to request rerouting on another airline under EU261, or receive compensation beyond just a refund? Any advice on how to file an effective claim would be appreciated.
