Just got off a Carnival cruise and wow, those PA announcements really do come at you from all directions. Some days we heard them three times or more, pushing everything from bingo to art auctions. One guest even complained to John Heald, who reminded everyone that onboard sales help keep base fares affordable. Fair point, but when you’re trying to chill by the pool or nap mid-afternoon, the BUY THIS NOW vibe gets old quick.
I get that it's a business and cruise directors need to boost onboard revenue, but I wonder if there's a better balance. Wouldn’t the app or daily FunTimes be enough for most people? Or do these announcements still work on some level? Curious if anyone here tunes in or just tunes out on these cruises?
