Booked Business through Aeroplan and saw a fixed-price upgrade to First pop up after an aircraft change to a 747-8. Paid for it, picked 1A, even got a receipt… but never got a proper confirmation email.
Booking still showed Business, just with “First Class seat reservation” next to the seat. Called Lufthansa and they basically said there’s no First Class cabin on the flight and what I paid was just for the seat.
Ended up being told to chase a refund instead.
Kinda wild that you can pay for a “First” upgrade that isn’t actually First.
