Flew Portland to LA on Delta, then got rebooked on United to Aspen after missing my connection. My bag didn’t make it on time and was delivered late Christmas night. When it showed up, everything inside was dripping wet. It’s a hard shell suitcase, so for it to be that soaked it must have sat outside in the rain for hours.
United told me I can only get items dry cleaned and submit receipts, but most of my ski gear says “do not dry clean.” They also said replacements aren’t allowed under policy.
Has anyone had luck getting compensated for ruined items in a case like this?
