My checked bag (about 25kg) was officially declared lost by Turkish Airlines.
I submitted receipts and documentation totaling around €1,950 for the contents, plus about €350 for essentials I had to buy while waiting for the bag.
They came back with an offer of roughly €926 and didn’t explain how they calculated it. They also said the delayed baggage expenses don’t count because the bag was never delivered, which doesn’t make much sense to me.
Has anyone gone through a lost baggage claim with Turkish and successfully pushed back? Were you able to increase the payout? Did you have to escalate or reference the Montreal Convention limits?
Would really appreciate hearing how others handled this.
