We’ve got four one way tickets booked from LAX to SIN this spring, currently in Premium Economy. I have a decent stash of Amex points and was hoping to transfer to KrisFlyer to upgrade to business.
Right now there are about 9 business class seats showing available, around two months out, but the flight is closed for mileage upgrades. So now I’m trying to figure out if this is still worth watching or if I should just stop thinking about it.
A few things I’m wondering:
Do SQ ever reopen flights for “upgrade with miles” if they’re currently closed?
If not, is cash upgrade through MySQ within 72 hours basically the only remaining option?
What are the odds that 4 business seats are still open that close to departure?
If only 2 seats open up, would they allow a partial upgrade, or does the whole party have to move together?
Basically… is there any realistic path here, or should I just mentally commit to PE and move on?
