Flew in the morning before my cruise and my luggage didn’t make it. Figured with multiple direct flights that day it would catch up. Nope.
We had already sailed when the airline called saying they had my bag and asking where to deliver it. I assumed I was out of luck for the whole trip.
Cruise guest relations had me sign a form so they could act on my behalf, coordinated with port agents, and somehow got my bag delivered to the ship on day 6. I honestly didn’t know they’d go that far beyond just giving you a phone number.
In the meantime I panic shopped before embarkation and racked up about $1k in replacement stuff, which I’m now sending to the airline. The ship even gave me one free laundry.
Super stressful at first, but it worked out way better than I expected. If this ever happens to you, definitely ask guest relations for help.
Anyone else had a cruise line pull off a luggage miracle like this?
